Q: Which Oil Pan do I Use?

A: With our Mustang II kits, standard rear sump fox body oil pans (85-91 Mustang) can be used on 289,302 & 351W applications and fit properly. FE engines use a variation of a Truck oil Pan. Milodan, Canton and Hawaii racing also offer a 5 or q7qt oil pan that can be used for this application. Other MII kits on the market may have frustrating issues with oil pans, requiring you to modify your oil pan in order to fit. Not with ours though. Pick the appropriate rear sump oil pan, and bolt it right on!

Q: Is there a Mustang II Kit for my car?

A: Probably. We have Mustang II kits for:
64-73 Mustangs
62-71 Fairlanes
60-70 Falcons
60-70 Comets
67-70 Cougars
35-72 Chevy Pickups
34-54 Chevrolet Cars
ALL MAVERICKS
Our kits can also be used with Ford 289,302,351W,351C, FE Engines and 4.6 Engines. Please call for GM Engine applications.

Q: Which Headers will work for my application?

A: For the Ford 289,302 or 351W, we have several header applications for your car. We suggest our MII headers for best fitment and clearance. 4.6 or FE cars may need custom header work. We do not suggest using Long tube or TriY headers. Shorty headers are best if you would like to avoid any clearance issues.

Q: What about my steering column and steering box?

A: The steering box will be removed for the Rack & Pinion Conversion. Our MII kit includes a set of Unisteer Universal couplers and shafts, as well as an adaptor kit to adapt your existing steering column to the rack. Slight modification will be needed to your existing column if you choose to use it, or you can order an IDIDIT tilt column, which is already designed to accept our universals.

Q: Can I use My stock wheels?

A: 14” Styled Steel Wheels, Magnum 500’s etc should clear the standard 11” disc brakes that come with our MII. Basically, you want to have at least a 14” wheel to clear our standard brakes. Upgrading to a 12” disc brake will require larger wheels, some 16’s will clear, but we recommend 17” for best clearance. 13” Disc brakes Require 17” Wheels or larger. 14” Disc Brakes will require 18” Wheels or larger.

Q: What makes your MII kit better than others?

A: Well, there are several reasons. First, our MII kit actually helps to strengthen the frame rails. Our Crossmember wraps around the frame rails, giving it support, while others require you to actually cut into the frame rail to attach the crossmember. When removing the shock towers, you want to keep as much structural support as possible. 2ndly, Clearance, clearance, clearance. Some MII kits are notorious for not being able to fit an oil pan properly due to poor rack & Pinion placement. We do not have that issue. If you would like, you could even purchase the oil pan and headers from us to be sure you get the best fit; something other MII vendors don’t offer. And lastly; Tech Support. We only sell what we install ourselves. Have a question on your install? Just ask, we install these things all the time. Remember, we make a living working on the same cars you do.

Have another question? Feel free to email us and we will add it to our Q and A.
